Boris Johnson says Britain could send tanks to Ukraine and says Russia is 'targeting civilians'

PRIME Minister Boris Johnson today condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin's 'targeting of civilians'.
The PM welcomed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to number 10 Downing Street for the first time to discuss the crisis in Ukraine.
Boris Johnson condemned the “unconscionable” targeting of fleeing civilians at an eastern Ukraine railway station by Russia and said it showed the “depths” to which President Vladimir Putin’s army has “sunk”.
He also announced the UK will send a further £100 million of high grade military equipment to Ukraine’s armed forces.

No body even mentions tanks neither mind about sending Challenger 2 MBT's that would totally obliterated Russian tanks considering it's the only tank in history to never ever be destroyed by enemy fire, ever, it's the most protected tank on any battlefield with it's full on armour packages of Dorchester Cobham armour, because it was built for exactly that, to take on at least 5 to one in favour of the Russian tank forces numbering 5 times that of the UK, that was when we had a thousand tanks, Challenger 1 and Chieftains until we cut numbers to around 600+ then again to 440+ with Challenger 2 and now 148 with Challenger 3, I'd hope someone has a brainwave and decides to upgrade at least 100 Challenger 2 to a 2.5 version to back up Ch-3 until they can be upgraded further again until we get new tanks all together in around 25-30yrs time

There was no mention in that speech of sending tanks. Pretty typical of the Sun though, to try to hype it up. Sending western tanks would be futile as it would require weeks of training to operate them effectively. Hand held anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons on the other hand have proven their effectiveness and that is what is being supplied. Furthermore the Russians have demonstrated their incompetence in command and control as well as supply and it is in these respects they will lose. The main lesson from this conflict is that in a straight confrontation between Russia and NATO, the Russian military would be obliterated. The humiliation suffered by the Russian military at the hands of Ukraine together with tightening sanctions will bring the Putin regime to its knees but it will take time. The only quick way out for Russia is to eliminate Putin Trotsky style with an ice pick to the head and that is the most likely outcome.

My heart goes out to the millions of Russian citizens, i know your kept in the dark and ignorant. Your great leader has brought your great country to it's knees and exiled from the rest of the world. You will now and for the foreseeable future be left in the dark age. With great conviction comes great condemnation, may this be a lesson to future Russians to learn that humility is the greatest leadership quality of them all..

As an American who proudly supports Ukraine in its fight, I wish our country had a President that could speak as eloquently, as quickly, and with as much resolve as Prime Minister Johnson. Much respect to the U.K. and to Germany for fully realizing that the rules have all changed in our world since Russia tried to invade Ukraine. We must all fight for Democracy, and give the Ukrainians every single type of weapon they ask for, and as fast as humanly possible. If we do not support the fight for Freedom now, then when?!

We should remember that although the USSR were aligned with Germany's invasion of Poland and other states at the beginning of WW2, the West provided weapons and other equipment to them on the lease or loan project to fight against Germany when they invaded the USSR.
So we should be doing the same for Ukraine, to help them fight back against an illegal invasion by Russia. So can we have less " could send " and have more " will send ". Because if Putin isn't defeated in Ukraine, then expect further invasions.
